Nice light of end of the day in Malanhoui in the south of Benin (Africa)
Ce sont bien des tam-tam en devenir. Ou plutôt, leurs futures caisses de résonance en argile noire posées à l’envers sur le sol et en train de sécher avant cuisson. Ensuite, ils seront entourés d’un ingénieux système de « cadre » formé de branches tressées qui leur permettra de tenir debout et d’y accrocher la peau de chèvre qui en feront des instruments de musique…
These will be definitely tom tom in future. Or rather, their future sound boxes in black loam put down on the soil and drying before baking. Then, they will be encircled with an ingenious system, like a « frame » of braided branches which will allow them to hold standing and to hang goatskin which will make them musical instruments…

Ce sont des objets rares. Suite à différents voyages et missions dans plusieurs pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest pour y étudier la pratique de la poterie, nous ne les avons rencontrés que dans la région d’Adjarra, prés de Porto Novo, capitale administrative du pays.
These are rare objects. Further to different trips and missions in several countries in West Africa to study the practice of the pottery there, we met them only in the region of Adjarra, meadows of Porto Novo, administrative capital of the country.
